Ubiquiti’s AF-5XHD is an update of the popular AF-5X connectors radio. Featuring the newly developed LTU chip, this 5GHz device offers greater performance and throughput than its AC predecessor. It is a proprietary protocol that takes advantage of LTE features in order to provide a higher-performing and more reliable device. Because of this, it is not backward compatible with existing AC and M Ubiquiti radios.
The AF-5XHD is aimed specifically at WISPs looking to deploy a noise resilient PtP link. The device is capable of 1Gbps throughput and has a dedicated AirView Spectral Analysis Radio to help you find the best spectrum to broadcast in.
The AirFiber 5XHD can be configured to handle PoE in on both ports and the dual network port can be reconfigured in case of data failure. It is also possible to use different management IDs on each port, allowing for in-band and out-of-band management at the same time.
Like the AF-5X, the AF-5XHD is compatible with existing AirFiber X antennas.
